Step 1: Download and print your QR code
Display your unique QR code in a place where it’s easy for customers to scan, such as your tables, benchtop or window.
Step 2: Customers scan your QR code
Direct your customers to scan the QR code to browse your menu and make their selections right from their smartphones.
Step 3: You receive and handle the order
The order will appear for you on the Uber Eats Orders app. Simply accept and prepare the order as usual.
- What is an Eat In order?
A new product for Uber Eats, where you can use QR codes to allow customers to place a contactless order via the Uber Eats App or web page while in-venue.

Currently only non-POS integrated restaurants are eligible for Eat In in Australian & New Zealand cities. Retail merchants and virtual restaurants are not eligible for Eat In due to the nature of their business.
- How do I enable Eat In ordering?
You will need to contact support or your Uber Eats Account Manager to opt in for Eat In.
- How much does it cost?
Save on Uber Eats fees for Dine-in with our introductory offer of 0% on Dine-in orders for the first 90 days, after your first completed Dine-in order. - Are there any additional costs to my customers?
No. Your customers pay only for the cost of their order and GST. Customers also have the option to leave a tip, which will be paid directly to your restaurant.
- Will tipping be available for Eat In?
Yes, customers will be able to tip a restaurant after placing their order. You will receive 100% of their tips on their pay statement, and it is up to them to distribute to their staff. Please note that the Australian Taxation Office guidance on tips notes that if all tips are passed onto employees then they are not subject to GST. Please reach out to your tax advisor for more details on this.
- What if customers don’t have the app installed?
Your QR code will drive customers without the app installed to the mobile web page view, and orders can be placed there. If customers don’t have an Uber Eats account, they will be directed to sign up for an Uber Eats account before they can order and pay.
- What is the difference between Pick Up and Eat In?
For Pick Up, the order will be packaged so that it’s easy for you to retrieve the order for dining off-premise. For Eat In, the order will be served to be enjoyed in the venue. Both methods allow for a contactless ordering experience.
